I always bring my camera to social functions where kids are present.  It provides me with an opportunity to practice photographing children, and prevents me from having to conduct in the kind of small talk that adults are so fond of.  Arthur is a particularly photogenic little boy that I see at a friend’s annual Fourth of July backyard party, and I’ve taken several good pictures of him in the last couple of years.  Aside from my children and my dog, he’s one of my favorite subjects.
